Community connections workshop (high school program)
A series of graffiti, visual and digital art workshops with high school students with disability in Sarina and Mirani alongside Street Artist Muddy Grimes. The visual arts workshops will culminate in a community public art work that fosters pride. These artworks will be installed on the sides of fence lines alongside the Plane Creek Sugar Mill (Wilmar Sugar) in Sarina and Marian Mill (Mackay Sugar) in Marian during the crushing season so that students in the Pioneer Valley and Sarina region can see their artworks where they live. These artworks will be launched and unveiled on the opening of the crush.
Dates: 5 x weekly sessions with the students commencing 26 February 2025 (Artwork to be installed ahead of crushing season)
Where: Sarina State High School, Mirani State High School and Crossroad Arts
Cost: FREE
Access: Wheelchair accessible.
