A Digital Animation Project

How do we mark time and special occasions? How do the seasons and nature also help determine this? 

To celebrate Artspace Mackay’s 20th anniversary Crossroad Arts has been invited to partner with Artspace to facilitate a series of digital animation workshops. 

Through this series of workshops, participants will have the opportunity to animate original artworks alongside new media artist Donna Robinson and local botanical artist Kate Brunner. 

This newly-created digital animation will be shown as a digital artwork projection on the exterior walls of Artspace Mackay throughout the 2023 Mackay Festival of Arts as well as an excerpt on Crossroad Arts’ Window Gallery.

Workshops will take place with students from the Inclusive Learning Centre at Sarina High School and Crossroad Arts in partnership with Kutta Mulla Gorinna Special Assistance School

Dates: Crossroad Arts and Kutta Mulla - Thursday 2, 9, 16 & 23 March 2023

Time: 10 - 12 noon

Venue: Crossroad Arts, 55 Wood St Mackay 

Cost: Free

Workshops will also take place at Sarina High School Wednesdays in March, 2023.

Exhibition dates:

• Friday 19 May, 6pm – 8pm

• Every night from Monday 3 July – Sunday 9 July, 6pm – 8pm.
