Intergenerational quilting

Visible Threads engaged the young and the young at heart in this unique quilting project!

Young people from Mackay District Special School, residents from Homefield Aged Care Centre along with students and community members from the rural town of Winton collaborated with photographers and quilters in this exciting series of workshops!

Unique digital portraits were created that formed the basis of stunning and colourful quilted projections that adorned shopfronts & walls as part Mackay Festival of the Arts and our Unconventional Tour & the Outback Festival in Winton.

These workshops ran from March to May in 2019 with the presentations taking place in An Unconventional Tour in July and The Winton Outback Festival in September 2019.
